Below are the steps to boot into recovery in three different types of Samsung Galaxy devices.

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Samsung Galaxy devices with the home button, press and hold Power+Home+Volume Up until the device Logo appears.

New Samsung Galaxy devices without the Home & Bixby button

  • Turn off your phone.
  • For New Samsung Galaxy devices without the Home & Bixby button, press and hold the VolumeUp+VolumeDown+Power 
  • Once the screen turns off, release the Volume Down button and VolumeUp+Power button pressed.
  • Use the volume button to navigate to Recovery Mode and press the Power button.


Install TWRP Recovery using ODIN

  • First, you need to download the ODIN tool on your PC, If you haven’t installed you can check this Download and Install ODIN tool.
  • Once downloaded ODIN runs on your PC.

  • Next, reboot your Samsung device into Download mode.
  • Then connect your device to the PC using a USB cable.
  • After connecting the USB cable, on ODIN Screen ID:COM section you can see a blue sign with the USB port number.

  • Unmark Re-Partition under the Options tab.
  • You have the option to cancel the ‘Auto Reboot’ Option (additional optional).

  • It’s time to upload TWRP. Tar file that you have already downloaded.
  • Click on the AP button to upload it.
